March
Friday 12th: 7pm Fish & Chip Supper in S. Benedict’s Parish Centre. This will be evening of socialising and fellowship; a chance to get together and have a chat. Sign up lists will be out at the end of February.
Thursday 25th: The Feast of the Annunciation. Sung Parish Mass, Saint Benedict’s at 7pm.
Sunday 28th: CTB Joint Lent Service, Central Methodist Church, Blyth at 4pm.
Mon/Tue/Weds, 29th/30th/31st: In Holy Week, Mass at S. Benedict’s at 7pm with address.

April
Thursday 1st: Maundy Thursday Liturgy, S. Benedict’s, 7pm.
Friday 2nd: Good Friday Liturgy, 2pm at S. Benedict’s.
Saturday 3rd: Easter Vigil, 7pm, S. Benedict’s.
Sunday 4th: Easter, 8:30am Mass at S. Mary’s, Horton, 10am Sung Mass at S. Benedict’s & Solemn Evensong/Benediction, 6pm at S. Mary’s Horton.
Sunday 11th: APCM – one Mass only at 10am at S. Benedict’s followed by meeting.
Friday 16th: Beetle Drive, 7pm, with plated Supper, raffle, bingo etc. Tickets & sign-up lists will be out at the end of March.

May
Wednesday 12th: The Ascension of Our Lord, 9:30am Mass at S. Benedict’s Lady Chapel & 7pm Sung Mass at S. Benedict’s.
Friday 21st: Sing-along-a-Sound of Music, S. Benedict’s Parish Centre at 7pm. Bangers and Mass Supper with lots of fun, singing and general lunacy. Get those lederhosen buffed up and brush off your wimples. Tickets will be available at the end of April.

June
Thursday 3rd: Corpus Christi, Sung Festal Mass with procession of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction, 7pm S. Mary’s, Horton. Refreshments served afterwards.
Friday 18th: Summer Entertainment Evening & Supper, S. Benedict’s Parish Centre7pm. More details nearer the time, tickets will be available at the end of May.
Tuesday 22nd: Confirmation Service, at 7pm Mass at S. Benedict’s by the Bishop of Beverley. There will be only one Mass that day. Pooled lunch afterwards.
Saturday 26th: Church Fair, St. mary's church in the market place starting at 10am.

July
Saturday 10th: Guild of the Servants of the Sanctuary, Guild Office, 3:00pm, S. Benedict’s. All are welcome.
Sunday 11th: S. Benedict’s Patronal Festival. Sung Festal Mass at 12MD at S. Benedict’s followed by a catered lunch in the Parish Centre. More details to follow. Please note that there will be only one Mass that day at S. Benedict’s.

August
Sunday 1st – Friday 6th: Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage. Pilgrims leave after 10am Mass at S. Benedict’s on 1st August.
Sunday 15th August: The Assumption of the BVM, Patronal Festival at S. Mary’s Horton; Sung Festal Mass at 12MD at S. Mary’s followed by lunch out. More details to follow. Please note that there will be only one Mass that day at S. Mary’s.
Sunday 22nd: Parish Day Out; There will be a coach trip out, a “mystery tour”, with Mass at Brinkburn Priory. More details to follow. There will be the usual 8:30am Mass at S. Mary’s, Horton for those not wishing or unable to go on the trip.

September
Saturday 11th: St Mary's Horton will be open between 10-00am and 4-00pm as part of the Northumbria Historic Churches Heritage Open Day. There will be guided tours of the church.
Wednesday 29th: Michaelmass,
at 7pm. Sung Mass of S. Michael and all Angels followed by Pie & Pea Supper with raffle, bingo and fun! Tickets for the Pie & Pea Supper will be available from the end of August.

October
Sunday 3rd: Harvest Thanksgiving, usual Mass at S. Mary’s and an all-age friendly Mass at 10am at S. Benedict’s with interactive sermon, please bring your Harvest Produce. 4pm CTB joint Harvest Songs of Praise service, followed by refreshments and auction off produce for charity.
Friday 15th: Coffee Evening & Fashion Show, 7pm S. Benedict’s Parish Centre.
Sunday 31st: All Saints, usual Masses at both Churches; Solemn Evensong& Benediction at 6pm at S. Mary’s, Horton.

November
Tuesday 2nd: All Souls Tide, 10am said Mass at S. Benedict’s & 7pm Sung Mass at S. Benedict’s.
Friday 5th: Fireworks Party, S. Benedict’s Parish Centre & Community Garden, 6pm onwards to allow children to attend for the first part of the evening. We’ll have Baked Potatoes, Gluvine (mulled wine type drink) and warm Parkin (ginger cake). There’ll be the inevitable raffle and maybe some silly party games and dancing to keep us warm!
Sunday 7th: Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving, for those who’ve died in the past year, 6pm, S. Benedict's.
Sunday 14th: Remembrance Sunday, usual services at both Churches. In conjunction with the local British Legion there will be an act/service of remembrance at the Cowpen War Memorial after the 10am Mass at S. Benedict’s and then at Bebside Club after that.
Sunday 21st: Christ the King, usual Mass at S. Mary’s and all-age friendly Mass at S. Benedict’s with interactive sermon with Sunday School Children.
Sunday 28th: Advent begins. Details of an Advent course will follow nearer the time.

December
Saturday 4th: there will be a Christmas Fair at St Benedicts.

Dorothy Minns & Ann MacDougal will host a fundraising event at S. Benedict’s Parish Centre in December. More details will follow.

We may have a Christmas party in December with party games, crafts table and Cake stall. More details to follow.

Christmas Services

Sunday 19th: Christingle Services: 3pm S. Mary’s Horton & 5pm
S. Benedict’s, Cowpen
Friday 24th: Christmas Eve, Crib Service, 5pm, S. Benedict’s, Cowpen. Midnight Mass 11:30pm, gather from 11pm for mulled wine and mince pies.
Saturday 25th: Christmas Day, usual Masses at both churches. No evensong.
Sunday 26th: Boxing Day, usual Masses at both churches, no evensong.

January 2011
Sunday 2nd January 2011: Carols by Candlelight at 6pm at St Mary's Horton.
